The Croatian (Yugoslavian) Professor Balthazar was definitely one of my favorite cartoons as a child in the 70s. He was a kind scientist/inventor who solved every problem by walking around and around and around thinking and then... pling!! As soon as he had thought up the solution he rushed to his big machine added the right ingredients. The machine processed and processed and out came a few drops into his tube - the magic potion.

Does anybody remember this little man and does perhaps anyone have just a little clip to upload to for instance YouTube? For nostalgic reasons I would just love to see the sequence I just described.
If you find more on interesting stuff on Balthazar on the net than these nice screenshots, let me know.

Lucy the Elephant, Margate, New Jersey (1950s)
I think I may have said it before but don't forget to check in at Motel Hell. Have a stay at least once in a while. That's where I came in contact with Lucy the Margate Elephant, a New Jersey landmark built in 1881. Read more.

Lenard Nimoy's "The Way I Feel" is available for download at Joe de Vivre.
Maybe something for the more adventurous Martin Klasch reader?
And while you're listening: do you think Mr. Nimoy will think of you? Perhaps!

Fronning will be away for a few days. I might be posting something anyway. However, if the Martin Klasch contributors have anything to post, this would be a good time to do so. Thank you. Good night and good luck!

According to Wikipedia the TV series Hill Street Blues ran for 146 episodes between 1981 and 1987. Doesn't it feel you've seen 'em all?

Did you know there was a Soviet Winnie the Pooh?
"In the Soviet Union, three Winnie the Pooh stories were made into celebrated cartoons by Soyuzmultfilm.
Quotes and songs from the films are still a staple of Russian society, and, together with the characters, are often parodied, while still loved." says Wikipedia
I'm really fond of the original illustrations by E. H. Shepard and the Disney version is quite lovable too but the Soviet version comes a bit like a breath of fresh air. Have a look at some short clips I've uploaded to YouTube.
And here is a Russian site dedicated to Pooh fans.
Thanks to Justine who got me on track for this post.

A beautifully made flash thing (what would you call it?) with a little bit of point-and-click without any clear goal, as far as I can see. So it's not what you'd normally call a game. It's not new so you might have seen it before. Maybe you'll like it a bit anyway.
Here, though, is a game called Levers by the same makers.

Twilightzone! is a new music blog by faithful Martin Klasch supporter Christoph (AKA Rideyourpony) aus Deutschland. Right now he is offering "Finnischer tango". Yes, the Finns love tango and probably think they invented it, and this is a funny and truly interesting compilation. Twilightzone! also has some great Bo Diddley, Screaming Jay Hawkins and more. To say the least it's a promising start!
Lostandfoundalbums is a very impressive co-operative music blog project which anyone and everyone can join. The creator of the blog is the infamous HansZUN. Already, after a few days in operation, there are lots of tasty music downloads linked there. OBSOLETE!
