Architecture: Villa Spies
Simon Spies (1921-84) was a wealthy excentric Dane who had made his fortune in the travel business. Villa Spies, or Villa Fjolle as it's also called, was built on a small island in the Stockholm archipelago as a summerhouse. Swedish architect Staffan Berglund designed the UFO-like house in 1969. Audio Ephemera: European Holiday
Sometime in the 50s SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) made this promotional record aimed at the US market.
The B side is not very interesting it only consists of three pieces of classical Scandinavian music ("Suite ancienne" /Johan Halvorsen, "Pastoral suite" /Lars-Erik Larsson, "Champagne galop" /H.C. Lumbye). Not bad but you will find better recordings.
The A side, however, is made as a sort of musical...
