Flickr: Those Swell Smoking Men
OK, so let me just be slightly politically correct and say that I do not encourage anyone to smoke ...but nor do think that we should hide the fact (see previous post) that many men used to smoked pipe in the old days. Smoking pipe was an important symbol of maturity, manliness, distinction, class, wealth, reliability etc.

Controversy: Ceci n'est pas une pipe!
Image: REUTERS/Philippe Wojazer
"...new posters for a recent Jacques Tati retrospective show the iconic Hulot without his pipe after the Paris public transport network (RATP) banned the picture, citing a 1991 law that prohibits advertising tobacco."
A drawing of Jacques Tati as Hulot (with his pipe) made by...?

30 Ways to Die of Electrocution
"Here are 30 illustrations from the book Elektroschutz in 132 Bildern. These diagrams outline causes of electrical accidents." From bre pettis' Flickr. (Blog). And, no, it's no joke. It's from a 1931 illustrated German or Austrian book on electric safety.

Album Covers: Lille Gerhard
The top two (EP) covers, made by Ulf Gustafsson, were found at LP Cover Lover and the bottom one at Farbror Sid.
"Lille Gerhard", who also called himself "Little Gerhard" when he sang in English, was one of the first Swedish "rock" singers in the 50s. Listen to Lille Gerhard at Sid's!
