Vintage Razor Blades and Wrappers

I came across this collection of vintage razor blades in wrappers. They are mostly Swedish and I would guess they are mainly from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

The hobby of collecting these I know nothing about, however I can imagine it was pretty popular once upon a time. Being an affordable household item with varying and often elaborate design it must have been much like collecting matchboxes/books, bottle caps or cheap stamps.

If anyone has information on the subject or can point to a place of information, let us know.

Yes, this is a repost from 2009. It was probably the biggest hit that Martin Klasch and my other (now neglected) blog Musselsoppans Vänner ever had. The Russian edition of Esquire contacted me to get permission to use the images. Which they did. In March 2010, I believe.
