Exhibition: Stig Lindberg

"Stig Lindberg's (1916-1982) designs for household items – notably ceramics – are familiar to almost all Swedes, as are his illustrations to popular children’s books. The exhibition gives a picture of Stig Lindberg's work as an industrial designer during the latter half of the 20th century."

A nice photo display of some of his works.

Exhibition: Pastille Boxes

At Kulturhuset in Stockholm there's an exhibition of candy pastille boxes from the 50s to the 80s. Most are Swedish (and Finnish) so it's a nostalgic experience, if you are too, revisiting long lost lables. Many are classics, though, and still in production. And many are really pretty to watch. Or funny.

Here's the collector's site and there's a book too ("The Pastille Boxes of the Childhood").

Exhibition coming up

The Swedish Post Museum in Stockholm announces a coming exhibition:

Dance-band cards from the 1970's
12 October – 4 December 2005
A colorful collection of postcards from Swedish dance-orchestras.

Hålligång med bussarong och polisong
12 oktober – 4 december 2005

"Visst var det på skoj eller menade de verkligen allvar? Det undrar Johan, en 35-årig gävlekrögare som blir glad av dansbandsmusik från 1970-talet. Han fascineras av glädjen och lekfullheten i dansbandens kostymer och låtarnas texter. Postmuseum visar en del av hans roliga vykortssamling."

I guess someone has been surfing the web seeing how popular these cards has become the last couple of years. Nice going. I'm looking forward to this!

Less important, of course, is the fact that the Post Museum has
a Garbo exhibition right now.

Lyssna på låten Golden hair med Magnus Blomberg och Erik Wahlberg. Rekommenderas. Håll utkik efter flera melodier av Magnus.
