Blog: Cartoon Modern

Amid Amidi, writer of the remarkable animation blog Cartoon Brew will soon have a new book out called Cartoon Modern (dedicated to all things 1950s animation design). The blog, Cartoon Modern, is of course an extension of this work.
Cool!

Geography: Arnie in Rio

Brazil... Hm.
What is Mr. Fronning doing "down" there?

Arnold knows! He's not just a governor - he is an ass connaisseur as well.
We are going to the carnival in Rio with Arnie. It's Brazil. But it's not Sao Paulo.
But, P-E Fronning might catch a glimpse of ass anyway. Maybe his own if he has a big mirror in his hotel room.
Anyway, here it is: Arnie in Rio. (via Bello Púbico)

Music: Eden Ahbez

This is of course a must have. Get it here. However, while you are waiting to receive the CD with your snail mail you can enjoy it here (sorry, no longer available...).
Learn more about Mr. Ahbez here or here.
And here you'll find some rare photos of him as well as a short video clip when he meets Nat "King" Cole (who was the one to first make "Nature Boy" a world wide hit. That was loooong before 'Moulin Rouge')

Swedish celebrities recordings

Ok, folks, now time for some words in the beautiful language that is Swedish:

Eftersom jag varit riktigt jäkla kass på att täcka upp här för Herr Fronning så får ni tre riktiga godbitar att stoppa upp i öronen:
Stellan Skarsgård - Bombi Bitt (njae, bra är det inte. Kanske något annat?)
Uppdaterat Filen går inte att spela för tillfället. Ladda ner den från YouSendIt så länge.:

Click!

Inger Nilsson - Keep On Dancing (jodå, Pippi gås (!) disko)
Britt Ekland - Do It To Me (Once More With A Feeling) (Ok, I'll do IT with you Britt. I am here for you!)

Ja, vad säger man!?

(This is sort of a pre-view/listen of what to come at PCL.)

Blog: Motel Hell

No, I haven't experienced a weekend at/of Motel Hell, but I have been absent. Busy, just busy...
Sorry about that!

Now, back to the good stuff.

Check out the blog, Motel Hell (from the very same guy that gave us Old Haunts; Deviled Ham; Malls Of America and Santa and Me!).

Sign of Life

Hi, this is P-E Fronning alive and well in Sao Paolo. All's well here.
Unfortunately I'm not able to read the blog (!!) and Mr Fontanas fantastic posts:( Hopefully later though.
Take care all you good people!

Christopher Walken reads Edgar Allen Poe's classic poem... sort of.
Here's the original poem.

Interactive presentation of Poe's classic poem lets students learn the vocabularyand literary devices in Poe's writing.

Era jävla lyriker!

Vintage ads: Ebony

Ok, so P-E Fronning has left us high 'n' dry.
But that won't stop Martin Klasch!
The spirit of Mr. Fronning is still here. I can sniff it all over the dashboard!
To get even more of Mr. Fronning's spirit into the game that is (and still is) Martin Klasch we shall meditate as we picture P-E as he is exiting the flight and walks down to be greeted by the warm and welcoming ground that is Brazil (scroll down and listen to Esquivel).
Now, we are on the case.

So, let's roll!

Martin Klasch in the good hands of PCL

It is with greatest confidence I leave the posting at Martin Klasch to Mr Dante Fontana of PCL LinkDump for the next 10 days.

Sebastian, thanks in advance!

See you soon!

Alike As Berries #1

Alike as berries would be a direct translation of "lika som bär" which we Swedes might say mostly about people who we find resemble each other. Come to think of it, it is hard to tell one berry from the other! If you're not a Swede you will probably not know the man to the right, but aren't they lika som bär?

Thanks to Max/Dasai who made the connection!

Just letting you know gently...

...t hat Mr Fronning will be away between the 2nd and 13th of November. However, I'm glad to say that Martin Klasch will still be open for business. Dear ol' Mr Dante Fontana of PCL LinkDump will post some stuff here - Martin Klasch may well be better than ever during these days!

The postcard above, though a little dated, shows where I'm going. Do you know? Another clue might be that the second photo produced in a Google picture search was an excellent female butt on a beach.

More clues later.

Update:
Mr J. finally found the correct answer - Sao Paolo. Bibi's home city by the way.

More on art as torture

Mr Josephzohn kindly told me about this short documentary (obsolete link) about the mysterious Frenchman Alfonso Laurencic who put his art as torture theories in practice during the Spanish civil war. You can read about that here. The documentary shown in Swedish TV on the culture show Kobra is mainly in Swedish but some in English and some in Spanish. You have to press the link Surrealistfängelset - The Surrealist Prison.

Thanks Mr Josephzohn

An old forgotten photo

An old forgotten photo that I found in an antique/thrift store yesterday. The man running the place said the photo had come from a (probably long gone) restaurant called Pelikan in Solna (in or close to Stockholm) that supposedly had variety shows. I think it's more plausible it came from an old cinema. Be that how it may, she is a great beauty that deserves to be shown.

"Patricia Medina, Hollywood's new star in the "Arabian nights"-genre, doesn't appear to lack what it takes to portray oriental beauties"
