Vintage Photos: Heja Sverige!

Photographer: Co Rentmeester, 1972, LIFE

I don't exactly know what this photo was supposed to illustrate but searching the LIFE photos for "polaroid" this was one of the results. A beautiful woman, probably Swedish, wearing a t-shirt with an image clearly Swedish. The typical red-painted Swedish cottage, the flagpole, the blue-and-yellow, trees...

This is also an image of Sweden...

Photography: Make Your Own Fish-eye Lens

Here's Johnny!

Did you ever wish you had a fish-eye lens on your camera? Johnny did. So he made his own using a door eye, an empty roll of toilet paper and a kitchen cloth. Here's his manual on how to do it (not very complicated).

Vintage Photos: Johnny Eck

www.johnnyeckmuseum.com

"Johnny Eck was born 27 August 1911 along with a twin brother named Robert. Johnny was born sans legs and with a truncated spine, resulting in the appearance of his body stopping midway through his torso.
In the mid '20s, Johnny began performing as a single-o (solo sideshow), although his brother traveled with him to emphasize their difference. He worked for years in the entertainment business, and is best known for his role in Tod Browning's Freaks. ( More (including very cute baby photos) )"

Blogger: Where do all the images go? Part 2

A couple of months ago I put out a question to the readers of Martin Klasch and it is now time to follow up on that. The main question was:

"If you, like me, publish most of your images in your blog by using the upload button in the blogger interface - in other words not using a separate tool - then where do all the images go?"

So, I kind of wanted to know if my blog images were collected somewhere that I and others could find them. My kind readers mrdantefontana, fisk, iluvnufc, arthur ignatowski, modmom, thombeau were all kind enough to participate in the discussion.

Iluvnufc was the first one to mention Picasa Web Albums and sure enough the answer to my question was that...

"...all the photos you've uploaded since December (2006) will appear in an album there, and we're working on migrating your older photos as well. (It'll take a while though - there are a lot of them.)" - Blogger Buzz.

What do you know? There they are!! Thanks to my readers for solving this mystery. Hopefully someone else got their questions answered by this too.

Here is the link to my open image galleries by the way (Your galleries are otherwise closed by default), and below you'll find links to my three open galleries and also an embedded slide show of the Martin Klasch images.

Vintage photos: Cushman's day at the circus

"Charles Weever Cushman, amateur photographer and Indiana University alumnus, bequeathed approximately 14,500 Kodachrome color slides to his alma mater. The photographs in this collection bridge a thirty-two year span from 1938 to 1969, during which time he extensively documented the United States as well as other countries.

Indiana University's Digital Library Program and the Indiana University Archives invite you to explore what Cushman saw. Here you can view his photographs as well as read contextual information about Cushman's life and work."

Blogger: Where do all the images go?

?A question for bloggers or others who would know: If you like me publish most of your images in your blog by using the upload button in the blogger interface - in other words not using a separate tool - then where do all the images go? Well, I'm not really interested in the technological aspect I just want to know if I can find them. If I haven't named them for instance "Martin Klasch number 985" etc, is there anyway of searching for them in Google?

The monkeybunny image to the right that I originally called "A1" was given the name "http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_m0YtPN5vgmI/R-pzeuG7EeI/AAAAAAAAC2w/... ...QdFIQgP3nAw/s1600-h/A1.jpg" by Blogger. So I guess that is where it is. But is this blog identified there in anyway? If it is it should be possible to find the rest of the images. Shouldn't it?

Photo: 29 Nude Pictures of Jane Birkin

29 Nude Pictures of Jane Birkin at the new Bedazzled! spin-off blog Bedazzled Blue. Need I say the photos are nice but NSFW?? I'm so sorry but that blog is no longer active. I don't want to link to a porn site but finding nudes of the gorgeous Jane Birkin is not difficult. Just keep searching, or stay for a while on this blog.

The picture to the left has sadly enough been cropped ;)
