Vintage Ads: The Man From M.A.S.T.E.R.

From Farbror Sid

Swedish shoe ad from 1967.

The copy (text) is pretty good too and it ought to be translated but don't feel I'd do it justice.
"Han med sug i blicken och spänst i sin gång. Kör alltid med Master. Eleganta skor i modern design. Bekväma. Som gjorda att gå på i. Som nu - vid en stilla drink fram på småtimmarna. Då är det skönt med Master för stressade agentfötter."

Google translate wanted to have a go:
"He suck in the eyes and resilience of its time. Run by the Master. Stylish shoes in modern design. Comfortable. As made to go on in. As now - at a quiet drink until the small hours. When is it good with Master of stressful agent feet."

Google translate is a good thing but it has its limitations. :D
If anyone else want to have a go at the translation please be my guest!

Poster Art: Every Which Way But Loose

From Martin Klasch

I've been editing a less than perfect copy of Bob Peak's* poster for "Every Which Way But Loose" **. I have basically cut this section out, redrawing parts of it, tidying it up and added a bit of shadow hopefully creating a little more 3D effect. I'm no pro so I'm reasonably happy with the result considering what I had to work with. It's good enough to print on a t-shirt for a friend (a big Clint fan) - this which was my objective all along.

Poster Art: Frank Zappa and the Mothers

From farbror-sid.se

Frank Zappa and the Mothers
The original uploader Farbror Sid is not sure what Zappa album this poster, by Dave McMacken, came with. Anybody? I've been looking around on the web for a while and I can't find this poster or any references to it. Maybe it's very rare in real life too. I seems it's a Mothers (of Invention?) jubilee and I'm counting six candles. Frankie himself says "established in 1964" and in 1969 he disbanded the original Mothers of Invention and formed the Mothers...
Anybody?

Vintage Beverage: Loranga

Mr Loranga

Loranga
is of the classic Swedish soft drinks introduced in the 50s that is still on the market. It used to be produced by Sandwalls ångbryggeri in Borås (I'm not sure if it was the first and only brewery to make Loranga but that would be my guess). Sandwalls brewery was bought and put to rest in the 70s/early 80s and Loranga has since been made by other brewerys. The card above is Mr Loranga in a set of Sandwalls happy families cards. Meet the whole family and the other charming Sandwalls families here.

PS. Yep, I've posted Sandwalls happy families before. It's worth it. Enjoy!
